Lindsey Vonn given surprise retirement party and a G.O.A.T. cake by boyfriend P.K. Subban

Skiing legend Lindsey Vonn returned home from the final event of her professional career to find that her boyfriend, Nashville Predators defenseman P.K. Subban, had put together a semi-private retirement party replete with balloons and her own G.O.A.T. ('Greatest of All Time') cake.

It would have been completely private had the three-time NHL All-Star refrained from sharing the video with his 1.1 million Twitter followers.

Vonn - Flight - Balloon - Bouquet - Retired

Vonn, 34, walked in after an 18-hour flight and was greeted with a balloon bouquet reading 'Officially Retired.' A cake made to look like a goat with a medal around its neck, skis, and pink ski poles was sitting on the kitchen table.

'There she is,' Subban, 29, can be heard saying as Vonn walks through the door. 'Home, sweet home. Look at her; 18-hour flight, still in the mix.'

'That cake,' she said, pointing out the frosted ski poles. 'That's epic.'

'You know how we do,' he said before asking, 'is that a lamb or a goat?'

Given the curved horns on the cake, it's not quite clear if it was designed to look like a goat or a ram.

A stuffed goat (which looked more like a goat and less like a ram this time) awaited her on their bed.

Days - Fall - Wind - Eye - Rib

Five days after crashing in super-G - a fall that knocked the wind out of her and left her with a black eye and a bruised rib - and three months after tearing a ligament in her left knee, Vonn won the bronze medal in the downhill at Sunday's World Championships in Sweden.

'I'm literally tapped out, I can't cry anymore,' Vonn told reporters on Sunday. 'I want to cry but it's dry. ... It's not an easy thing to feel your bones hitting together and continue to push through it.
