(CNSNews.com) - For a second straight day, a Democrat-led committee chairman omitted the phrase "So help me God" from the oath given to the witnesses who were about to testify.
And when Rep. Diana DeGette (D-Colo.) was reminded of the omission by a committee Republican, she indicated that it was intentional:
Ah - Oath - Oath - Today - DeGette
"This is the – ah, this is the oath we use, and that's the oath we're going to use today," DeGette said, moving on.
The same thing happened Wednesday in the House Judiciary Committee, but in that case, Chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.), prodded by a committee Republican, agreed to repeat the oath, this time using the phrase "So help me God."
