Just as Collider Video predicted last month, Split star Anya Taylor-Joy has signed on to star in Edgar Wright‘s psychological horror-thriller Last Night in Soho. Variety brought official word on Monday, reporting that she’ll play “one of the leads” in the film, which may suggest a larger ensemble of some kind.
Krysty Wilson-Cairns (Penny Dreadful) wrote the screenplay, but plot details are being kept under wraps for now. All we know is that the story is set in London’s Soho district, and that’s where filming will take place this summer. The film will be a co-production between Focus Features and Working Title.

Wanna know how Collider Video got the jump on this one? In late November/early December, I heard from a good source that Wright had his eye on Taylor-Joy for his next film, but I didn’t know what that film was. Would it be Grasshopper Jungle? One of the animated movies he’s been developing? His sci-fi movie Collider (great title!)? I did a quick search on Twitter for their names, and found this May 2017 tweet from Wright in response to a user who’d asked the director who he’d love to work with in the near future.
