Kym Marsh admits ‘women in the public eye are living in fear and are sitting ducks for stalkers'

Kym Marsh has admitted that women in the public eye are 'very much sitting ducks' for stalkers.

Speaking days after Australian popstar Kylie Minogue's recent stalker ****, the Coronation Street star, 42, discussed the 'constant fear of looking over your shoulder' and not wanting 'to go anywhere by myself' in a candid interview with The Sun.

Kym, who has also spearheaded the Stop A Stalker campaign, admitted that famous people were more at risk, and some stalkers have gone as far as imitating her online.

Speaking of her own experiences, Kym revealed: 'At the time when all of that was going on for me I didn’t want to go anywhere by myself. I was really freaked out. It does make you look over your shoulder and none of us should have to live in fear.

'This is something that happens to people that are in the public eye on a daily basis. In my case people were even pretending to be me online and you just think "Oh God" you know, but without realising actually that could be really potentially quite scary down the line.”

Kym also confessed that her plight has affected her children, especially eldest daughter Emilie, as online dating profiles have been set up in her name, stating she's bisexual alongside various other things.

Last year, Kym admitted she was 'sent porn hate mail' by one disturbed male, while another sent flowers to her home address.

Speaking to OK! magazine, she confessed: 'Things like this happen all too frequently, like the time a man sent porn hate mail to me and a few other soap stars.'
