Alligators FROZEN at North Carolina swamp park are practicing survival tactic for harsh winters

Alligators at a North Carolina swamp park are literally letting their body freeze in an attempt to survive the harsh winter, only letting their snouts stick out of the cold waters.

The Swamp Park in Ocean Isle Beach shared a video on Tuesday showing all of their gators taking part in the bizarre survival tactic.

Cold - Manager - George - Howard - Alligators

'Are you ready for the cold, be prepared and thinking ahead,' said manager George Howard. 'All our alligators in ice here. Eighteen American alligators are thinking ahead, as they poke their noses through the ice.'

The brief clip pans to various reptiles, stuck still in the ice. While their bodies can be seen through the ice, their snouts are the only parts of them that stick through the ice.

The footage currently has more than 42,000 views.

The 65-acre park specializes in rescuing alligators and features a live stream of the reptiles on their website.
