Blizzard force winds at 60mph obliterate a tiny Colorado home with owner and her two cats inside

A tiny Colorado home was obliterated by blizzard force winds on Tuesday.

The Cripple Creek Fire Department said the woman and two cats inside the home were rescued by first responders after the strong winds sent the house tumbling about 200 feet down a hillside.

'Tiny homes and blizzard force winds do not like each other!' the department said in a Facebook post.

First responders said the home was 'blown over and blown down the road'.

Photos shared by the department showed the home lying on its side after it was picked up off its foundation by the winds. Several of the woman's personal belongings were strewn across the snow.

According to Fox 31, the woman was taken to the hospital to be evaluated for injuries. She has since been released.

Cripple Creek Fire Chief Dean O'Nale told the station that the woman 'was laying on the bed when it happened and the mattress rolled over on top of her and it protected her a little bit'.
