Cheryl reveals she gave up ballet because 'she didn't want to spend her life eating salad'

Cheryl has confessed that she decided to give up ballet as a child as 'she didn't want to spend her whole life eating salad.'

The singer, 35, told The Mirror she had always dreamed of being a ballerina while growing up and also briefly attended the Royal Ballet Summer School, but decided to give it up at the age of nine.

She said: 'I didn’t want to have to stand a certain way all my life and only eat salad.'

Cheryl's revelation came after she got the chance to meet ballerina Barbara Peters, 81, and admitted that her incredible physique so late in life may tempt to rethink the career switch.

According the publication she told her: 'I used to do ballet when I was young. You’ve inspired me to want to get back into it.

"If I can get back into ballet and end up looking like you at 80 – job done.'
