If you've been dieting or eating mindlessly for years, you've probably forgotten how to pay attention to hunger cues - and so can end up bingeing on sugar and fat.
'By simply tuning into your hunger, you can best fuel your body - without needing to count macros, points or weigh your food,' Lyndi told Daily Mail Australia.

'The hunger scale is a tool for helping you work out how hungry you are, on a scale of 1-10.'
So how does the scale work and how can you use it?

'Before you eat, rank your hunger on a scale of zero to 10. Zero is beyond hungry and 10 is stuffed full,' Lyndi said.
'It can help to think of the hunger scale like the fuel gauge for your car. The fuel light is your hunger, reminding you to top up on some food. It may take about 30 minutes to move one point along the hunger scale.
'So if you're neutral (5), you may be hungry (3) in about an hour.'
She added that if you ignore your fuel light, you might run out of energy and become a zero or one quite quickly.
