Britney Spears new album put on hold after the star announces 'indefinite work hiatus'

Britney Spears has put her upcoming album on hold as she continues to concentrate on her father's health.

The singer, 37, recently announced she will be taking an 'indefinite work hiatus' to care for her ailing father Jamie Spears, and now her manager Larry Rudolph has confirmed this freeze includes work on her upcoming Justin Tranter-produced album.

'Everything is on hold right now until Jamie is better,' Larry told Variety. 'But once she is, she will resume working on the album with Justin. Right now, she's taking some time off to deal with these family issues.'

Justin will be serving as an executive producer of Britney's new album, and revealed to Variety he is 'beyond excited to be involved.'

However he would not speculate on a release date for the album.

The album would be Britney's 10th studio album, following the release of Glory in 2016.
