Callous thieves stole hundreds of brand new bikes and helmets that had been meant for needy children this Christmas.

Waste Connections, a waste management company in Washington state, raised more than $55,000 to buy around 700 bikes for less-fortunate children.

They bikes were being stored in a trailer that was parked at a Walmart store in Vancouver.

But on Tuesday, the company's staff discovered thieves had broken in and stolen around 200 bikes, Fox12 reports.
