Nutritionist reveals the seven drinks she has instead of coffee

A cup of coffee is a part of many people's morning routines, and going without is often not an option.

But for those developing a bit of an addiction to caffeine, there are alternatives, seven of which Australian nutritionist and food author, Jessica Sepel, revealed she reaches for when she needs to curb a craving.

'As you guys know, I am all about balance and that includes balance with coffee. This does not mean you ever have to give it up – just moderate,' Jessica Sepel wrote in a blog post on the subject.

'My rule is one cup of coffee a day, before 10am if possible, for quality sleep and to support sugar cravings control.'

Jessica explained that she never wants people to feel like they're missing out on a 'coffee break' so she shared her favourite alternatives.

One of her suggestions is a spiced turmeric latte, as turmeric's active ingredient, curcumin, is a powerful antioxidant with anti-inflammatory properties.
