‘Cam’ Trailer: Blumhouse’s Thriller Shines A Creepy Light On The World Of Online Sex Work

We’ve seen horror films from the perspective of webcam chats before, famously in “Unfriended” and most recently, the amazing “Searching.” However, with the latest Netflix movie “Cam,” the perspective isn’t just webcam chats, but instead the business of women using their webcams to earn money.

As seen in the new trailer, “Cam” tells the story of a young camgirl that is rising in the ranks of her website’s channels. However, after being unable to log-in to her account, she notices that an imposter has hijacked her account and using it for their own gain. From there, things get really weird, as the film turns into a bit of a horror-thriller.

Blumhouse - Productions - Studio - Get - Out

Blumhouse Productions, the studio behind “Get Out,” “Happy Death Day,” and “Split,” among many, many more, is responsible for the film. “Cam” premiered at this year’s Fantasia International Film Festival and was a fixture among the fall film festival circuit.
