A South Carolina woman was found guilty of kidnapping charges stemming from the 2013 disappearance of her husband’s 20-year-old lover.
Tammy Moorer was sentenced Tuesday to 60 years in prison on kidnapping and conspiracy charges in the case of Heather Elvis, a hostess who went missing from Myrtle Beach in December 2013.

Elvis allegedly had an affair with Tammy’s husband, Sidney Moorer, before she vanished and abandoned her car at a local boat landing. Nearly five years later, the young woman has not been found.
The jury deliberated for less than a day before convicting Moorer of plotting with her husband to kidnap Elvis.

“I am Heather’s number one advocate,” Moorer told the judge after the verdict was announced. “I want to know what happened to Heather probably just as much as her parents do.”
In the 11-day trial, the prosecution argued Moorer was furious about her husband’s cheating and wanted to get his former lover out of the picture.
