A California mayor's wife — running for a political office herself — was allegedly caught on camera stealing signs opposing her candidacy.
Tony Bushala, a businessman from Fullerton, California, has claimed that Paulette Marshall Chaffee was responsible for the theft of campaigns signs that Bushala had paid for and posted around town.

Bushala told KTLA that he had paid more than $1,000 for 200 signs, which opposed 'carpetbagger' Paulette's candidacy for a seat on the Fullerton City Council.
Over the course of three days, he said, 180 signs were removed.
Surveillance - Footage - Buildings - Office - Paulette
When reviewing surveillance footage from buildings near his office, he said that he was able to determine that Paulette, who is married to Fullerton's mayor, Doug Chaffee, was the one who had lifted the campaign signs.
'I knew it was her right away once I looked at the video because I know her personally,' Bushala told KTLA.

'We've met before on several occasions, and I've seen her at City Council meetings. She's a very recognizable person; she's a public figure.'
