There’s strong evidence that the mainstream media have a liberal bias. From cable news to Hollywood and even, increasingly, social media outlets, the playing field seems to tilt left.
But what about print?
Books - Millennials - Parents - Google - Facebook
Good, old-fashioned books — millennials, ask your parents — might not be as high-tech as Google or Facebook, but they’re still a big part of the media. So are newspapers, even though the “paper” in the name is increasingly being replaced by pixels.
For decades, the venerable New York Times Bestseller List served as the final word on which books were popular in America. But that may be finally changing.
Paul - Bedard - Washington - Examiner - New
According to Paul Bedard of the Washington Examiner, that famous New York newspaper is facing flak after it apparently snubbed a popular book about Christianity written by a big name in conservative commentary and another that supports President Donald Trump.
“[T]he New York Times bestseller list is putting books by a model and a porn actress above those with bigger sales numbers that focus on Jesus and promote President Trump,” Bedard wrote Friday.
Jesus - Risen - Book - Church - David
“Jesus is Risen,” a book about the early Christian church penned by David Limbaugh, has been selling like hotcakes, yet The New York Times has kept it completely off the bestseller list.
At the same time, another conservative book — “Liars, Leakers, and Liberals” by Fox News host Jeanine Pirro — appears to have been suspiciously placed lower than where it belongs on The Times’ list.
Publisher - Weekly - Book - Sales - Limbaugh
Publisher’s Weekly, which closely tracks book sales, reported that Limbaugh’s book sold 9,218 copies for the week and Pirro’s book sold 9,187 for the same time period.
