Ratings: The CW’s ‘All American’ Gets Benched in Debut

The CW’s new high school football series “All American” had a very junior varsity premiere on Wednesday, when the channel also returned “Riverdale” for Season 3.

With “Empire” and the 10 p.m. time slot out of the equation (as per usual), Fox won Wednesday’s primetime among adults 18-49. With its strong “Chicago” lineup, NBC finished No. 1 in total viewers.

Fox - Ratings - Share - Demographic - Viewers

Fox was first in ratings with a 1.4 rating/6 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic, but third in total viewers with an average of 4.7 million, according to preliminary numbers. “Empire” at 8 landed a 1.5/7 and 5.1 million viewers. “Star” at 9 had a 1.3/5 and 4.2 million viewers.

NBC was second in ratings with a 1.2/5 and first in viewers with 7.8 million. “Chicago Med” at 8 got a 1.3/6 and 8 million viewers. At 9, “Chicago Fire” earned a 1.3/6 and 8.2 million viewers. “Chicago P.D.” at 10 received a 1.2/5 and 7.1 million viewers.

CBS - ABC - Ratings - CBS - Viewers

CBS and ABC tied for third in ratings, both with a 1.1/5. CBS was second in total viewers with 5.9 million, ABC was fourth with 4.2 million.

For CBS, “Survivor” at 8 scored a 1.5/7 and 7.6 million viewers. At 9, “SEAL Team” had a 0.9/4 and 5.6 million viewers. “Criminal Minds” at 10 got a 0.8/4 and 4.6 million viewers.

For ABC, “The Goldbergs” at 8 had a 1.3/6 and 5 million viewers. At 8:30, “American Housewife” got a 1.0/4 and 4.3 million viewers. “Modern...
