Wales Rally GB event sees boy rushed to hospital

A boy has been left fighting for his life in hospital after a crash involving two stunt motorcyclists in the popular seaside town of Llandudno, North Wales.

The youngster is in a critical condition at Alder Hey Children's Hospital in Liverpool after being flown from the scene of the accident.

Motorbikes - Supermoto - UK - Close - St

Two rally-cross motorbikes from Supermoto UK were understood to have collided head-on close to St George's Hotel on the promenade which was partially closed for the event.

Spectators at the international event have set up a fundraising page for him.

Daily Post photographer Ian Cooper saw the bikers spin around like 'rag dolls' as he witnessed the incident from just 12 feet away.

He said: 'They were going along the promenade going over a jump and turning around and doing burn outs before coming back towards each other.

'The young lad was on a smaller bike and he was heading back towards the jump right as another bike came over the jump.

'As he came over and landed the young lad was heading towards him and the young lad was right in the centre line and they both hit each other head on.

Sheets were brought out from the hotel to provide privacy for the boy while paramedics treated him.
