Shane Richie has reportedly been axed by his record label East West - just after son Jake Roche's band Rixton was let go by Interscope.

The EastEnders star, 54, released his comeback album Country Soul in November, which peaked at no.42, while Jake, 25, hasn't recorded anything with his boyband since 2016.

According to The Sun, Rixton - who had a number one hit with Me And My Broken Heart - are already eyeing up a new deal with the help of Justin Bieber's manager Scooter Braun.

Shane's career reaches all the way back to 1997 with his starring role in musicals, while his Children In Need Wham! cover I'm Your Man reach no.2 in the charts in 2002.

Despite a varied career in stage musicals and television, Shane hadn't picked up much hype over his 2017 debut country album and is said to be turning his focus back to the small screen.

Of the soap star, an insider told the publication: 'He wanted to try to follow in the footsteps of Bradley Walsh, who had chart success in 2016. But it didn't work and now he's focusing on acting again.'
