A PE teacher who was struck off after being caught using heroin has said she took the Class A substance because she wanted to kill herself.
Laura Wilson, 38, taught at Dixons City Academy in Bradford, West Yorkshire for six months last year before her heroin use emerged and she was subsequently fired.

In June, a panel on behalf of the Teaching Regulation Agency found Ms Wilson guilty of unacceptable professional conduct and she was banned from teaching.
Defending herself against the allegations, Ms Wilson told MailOnline: 'It's not like what it seems. It isn't that black and white.

'I was mentally unwell, I was trying to kill myself. It wasn't like I was the person I am going to be made out to be - some irresponsible teacher.'
The panel heard Ms Wilson, of Morley in Leeds, took heroin outside of the school setting which led to an undisclosed illness forcing her to take time off work.

But while she accepted her allegation of using the substance, Ms Wilson contested her time off was due to the misuse of the Class A drug - which the panel found no medical reason to disagree with.
In the report it stated: 'It is not of the belief that he [a senior member of staff from Dixons City], or Ms Wilson are sufficiently qualified to make an assessment as to the underlying medical reasons for Ms Wilson's [illness].
