Ever wanted to castaway on your own private island in the style of Richard Branson? Well now you can - for a fraction of the cost.
Home hunters looking to escape from their neighbours can buy their own slice of paradise complete with a three-bedroom cottage for less than the cost of a London flat at just £500,000.
Harbour Island is a picturesque Scottish retreat made up of nine acres of rugged coastline with wild gardens and woodland as well as a 1,000 sq/ft unmodernised cottage.
The cottage comprises three bedrooms, a bathroom, kitchen, living room and conservatory, as well as a one-bedroom guest house in its grounds. The private island is located off Crinan Harbour, which is a 100 mile trip to the west of Glasgow, Scotland.
It forms the sea end of the Crinan Canal, which was opened in 1801 and stretches from Ardrishaig on Loch Fyne to Crinan on the Sound of Jura, and provides a shortcut from the Firth of Clyde to the Western Isles.
The island has now been put on the market with Savills for just £500,000 - which gets you a tiny studio in central London or a three-bedroom terrace in an upmarket...
