Accused murdered threw urine in corrections officer's face

One of the 12 Dominican gang members behind bars for allegedly murdering a 15-year-old boy threw urine at a corrections officer this week.

Danel Fernandez, 21, threw a cup filled with urine at a correction officer's face at Rikers Island jail on Wednesday, according to internal department records obtained by the New York Daily News.

Fernandez - Dozen - Men - Trial - Beating

Fernandez is one of a dozen men awaiting trial in the brutal beating and murder of Bronx teen Lesandro 'Junior' Guzman-Feliz.

The 15-year-old boy was dragged out of a bodega last month and slashed in the neck with a machete by several members of the Trinitarios gang.

Men - Held - Junior - Murder - Jose

One of the other men behind held for Junior's murder, 21-year-old Jose Muniz, is also said to have threatened to kill an officer, according to a jail source who spoke with the Daily News.

The case has received so much attention that Fernandez, Muniz and another gang member had to be isolated in their own wing at Rikers Island jail earlier this month because of threats made against their lives.
