Just a month after its highly-publicized campaign, IHOb is back to putting the 'p' in its name.
The International House of Pancakes has revealed that it faked the controversial name change to promote a new burger menu.

IHOP revealed the news with a new promotion to celebrate its 60th birthday.
'We're giving away 60¢ short stacks...for IHOP's 60th birthday. That's right, IHOP! We'd never turn our back on pancakes (except for that time we faked it to promote our new burgers)' the chain tweeted on Tuesday.

The reveal comes just a month after IHOP claimed it was changing its name to IHOb to show how serious it was about the new Ultimate Steakburgers menu.
IHOP has since shut down its IHOb Twitter account, writing in the description: 'Hey ya pancakes. Don't follow us here. We're @IHOP now.'

It also tweeted: 'We really abbreciate the burgerin' loyalty, but we're back @IHOP again.'
One customer cheekily replied: 'Lmao didn't go well huh?'

But IHOP was quick with a comeback, writing: 'The blan was to get beople talking about our new burgers. And it worked.'
IHOP managed to whip up speculation for days on social media when it first hinted that it was going to change the last letter of its name.
