Tesla has issued a new update to its mobile app that lets users set the top speed for their car directly from their smartphone.
Called 'Speed Limit Mode', it's included in Version 3.4.1 and builds on a similar feature, dubbed Valet Mode, according to Electrek.

However, it won't engage some of the annoying features in Valet Mode, like locking the glove compartment and trunk.
The update will let users 'limit vehicle speed and acceleration with speed limit mode.'
Vehicle - Speed - Range
Maximum vehicle speed can be set to a range of 50 and 90mph.
It's unclear when users will be able to access the latest update, but Tesla told Electrek that it can only be enabled once the car is parked.
Users - Update - Vehicle - Software - Version
Users can install the update only if they have vehicle software version 2018.24 or higher.
Previously, Valet Mode would limit the speed of the car to 70mph, while power and acceleration were limited to 25%.
Vehicle - Settings - Access - Data
Additionally, it made it so that certain vehicle settings are disabled and access to personal data is restricted.
