Man in his 30s is shot dead walking on a Manchester street with two people arrested for his 'murder' in police raids

Two men have been arrested after a man in his 30s was shot dead in the street.

The victim was killed following an altercation in Ashton-under-Lyme, Greater Manchester, just before 5pm today, police confirmed.


The man was rushed to hospital but tragically passed away.

Two men, aged 29 and 32, have been arrested on suspicion of murder following armed police raids.

Firearms officers descended on the scene after calls were made. A cordon remains in place around the scene.

Police have moved to ease public fears and have urged anyone with information about the incident to come forward immediately.
