Professor Green has been slammed by fans after taking a scathing swipe at his ex-girlfriend Fae Williams, by claiming she's 'downgraded' by allegedly moving on to a new romance with Dan Crowe.

The 34-year-old rapper is a staunch campaigner for mental health awareness, yet Twitter users insisted he was contradicting his work by hitting out at the duo, although some fans claimed he was within his rights.

Tuesday - Star - Millie - Mackintosh - Post

On Tuesday, the star, who was previously married to Millie Mackintosh, captioned the mean-spirited post: 'When your ex downgrades... I’ve really gotta stop giving birds careers, means you bump into em once you’ve dumped em.' [sic]

Green's original Instagram post was a screenshot from a video originally posted to Fae's own social media account, which showed the tattoo artist downing a cocktail in one go as they vacationed in Ibiza.

Insult - Tattoo - Artist - Dan - Post

Adding insult to injury, he even directly tagged tattoo artist Dan in the post, which garnered more than 8,000 likes in less than three hours - yet the London-born rapper appeared to have second thoughts and deleted the post from Instagram.

Despite removing the image from the photo-sharing site, he left up the tweet which linked back to the post - leading to divided reaction from followers.

One of his 2.05million followers penned: 'You promote mental health yet here you are giving two people a public s**gging off. So what if your ex had a guy on her insta story, you’re not with her. Your comments on this are just plain nasty and she hasn’t mentioned you on social media once. Bad form...

Other fans who seemed perturbed by the post continued: 'Bad form bruv, clearly this gained your interest... Lol no love lost.... Brutal... There is no comeback to this comment... With looking desperate... And a stalker.'
