He rose to stardom with his portrayal of errand boy Granville on the beloved BBC sitcom Open All Hours.

And David Jason reprised his famous role as he filmed scenes for the latest series of Still Open All Hours - set to return to screens later this year - in Doncaster on Thursday morning.

Signature - Coat - Actor - Show - Barmy

Sporting his signature brown coat, the 78-year-old actor appeared unfazed by the show's typical barmy antics, as a massive yellow balloon emblazoned with the name of Granville's inherited shop, Arkwright, appeared on set.

The Crossroads star continued to live up to his character as he teamed his trademark look with a knitted sweater-vest, black tie and brown bottoms.

Stood - Outside - Store - Shopkeeper - Conversation

Stood outside of his store, the shopkeeper engaged in conversation with fellow characters Gastric (played by Tim Healy) and Granville's son LeRoy, portrayed by James Baxter.
