A Texas perfumer and co-founder of a Renaissance festival was crushed to death by her car while performing a routine oil change on her own over the weekend.

According to police in Fort Worth, Stephanie Vinson, 35, was lying beneath her elevated car on Saturday afternoon when the vehicle slipped off the jack and fell on top of her.

Vinson, who was a recent transplant form Amarillo, was rushed to John Peter Smith Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries early Sunday morning.

Her grieving sister told Fort Worth Star-Telegram that Stephanie had relocated to the city a year ago to care for their grandparents.
